Potatoes consist largely of water. This water first has to evaporate to get the chips cooked and make them crispy. This is achieved quickest in the deep fryer due to the high temperature of the oil. The air fryer has a bit more of an issue in this respect, as the preparation of a bag of chips can take quite some time. At Beyerlander we thought this really shouldn’t be the case. So we evaporate off most of the water beforehand at the factory, which means you only have to evaporate the last bit at home. The result? Air fryer chips that are ready in just 3 (!) minutes (depending on the size of the cut).
